I set this website up because I love all aspects of design, particularly fireplace design. However, I hate the exclusive, snobby attitude that some designers have. Everyone should be able to enjoy beauty and good design. That’s why I want to share my fireplace design knowledge with as many people as possible.

Since you’ve found this website I’m assuming you love beautiful fireplace designs as much as I do. The truth is, I’m always on the internet looking for fireplace ideas and building tips. While doing some research, I stumbled upon a fantastic manuscript by The Majestic Company.

They are one of the most well known and respected fireplace builders of the last century and continue to be a leader in the industry today.

I noticed that most of their work was available online with the exception of one of the most important pieces of work, ‘How To Plan And Build A Better Fireplace’.  Even though it was first published in 1958, this book has the best fireplace design and building information I have ever seen.


In the 23 chapters here’s just a snippet of what you’ll learn:

• Recognize design faults that lead to a non-efficient fireplace
